Every now and then, this Cape Town based photographer get’s to let his hair down, “dress down to dress up”, and to venture out with his favourite steed (In this case his wonderful wife Jaimi) to a music festival with some of the greatest musicians to take the stage on the various platforms around this great country.
Being a Cape town based photographer definitely has it’s advantages in the fact that this City, or this part of South Africa has some of the most beautiful settings, locations and landscapes that the world has to offer. So being surrounded by this beauty and with the fact that I always always love sharing my photographic knowledge and experience with others, the idea of Pack Your Camera was born.
Shooting for Banshee 22 is always a treat. I recently photographed the opening of the new The Fix shop in Canal Walk here in Cape Town. Here are just a few of the moments to let you have a little insight of what went down at this exciting evening.
Every now and then this Cape Town based Wedding & Lifestyle photographer hosts competitions to win a shoot. Tegan, a student from Stellenbosch, was my latest winner and here are some of her images taken in and around the wonderful West Coast town of Melkbos. A big thank you to the fab coffee shop I Love Melkies for allowing us to kick off the shoot on their beachfront premises.
Yes the shoot competitions are designed to bring exposure to my photography but also allows for my audience to see just how into photography I am and how much I like to give back to my followers. This is a perfect way for me to say thank you for supporting and following my work.
This Cape Town Photographer recently ran a competition for a couple to win an amazing full photo shoot.
Two winners were selected, one girl and one guy. Nina Dos Santos and Gary Payn were the lucky
two drawn and the first shoot happened two weeks back in the Blouberg area.
Not only is Denise a pioneer in the stills production business here in Cape Town through her Cape Town Productions company, she is also a wonderful advocate to the Reach For A Dream charity, a lover of food through her amazing Ginger & Lime “for the love of cooking” cooking classes which she hosts in her own kitchen, and also owns and manages two beautiful homes in Yzerfonrein that she rents out for international fashion crews to utilise for photographic shoots.
We joined Denise Levy of Cape Town Productions in her beautiful Fresnaye home in Cape Town to learn more about Asian cuisine. What an amazing evening of good South African wine, beautiful seafood and fresh SA Produce. Ginger and Lime approaches cooking from a very enjoyable hands on approach. We cannot wait to go back. A late afternoon shoot is what is always best for this part of the beautiful Cape Peninsular. Long summer days, soft white sands and beautiful mood enhancing lighting right up until the late hour of 20h30 are what every professional photographer longs for. This is just one of the beauties of this shoot.
With the models, makeup artists, hairstylist and fashion designer all on board, we headed up Hartford House to begin the day of styled shooting.
Over 60 surfers gathered on the KZN North Coast at the Beach Bums Restaurant to compete in the Off The Lip Mo Retro Surfing Jam. Created by Quiksilver and Movember, the 70’s retro surf contest was an amazing event with a good vibe and all for a good cause.
This fun event helps create awareness and attracted supportive Durban celebs like Jordy Smith and Warwick ‘WOK’ Wright. We were lucky enough to be asked by Movember SA’s organisers to shoot the event.
