First 100 Hipstamatics of 2012

Back on January 1, 2012 Adrian and Jaimi embarked on a 366 day commitment. What we didn’t know is that one photo a day, IS NOT, as easy as it sounds. Cos sometimes you’re just not that into it. But after all it does push your creative button once a day and it has been super fun so far!!

Hipstamatic 366 - Day/Img 008 - The Jaws of Life

So after shooting a fireman’s wedding this weekend and have a super cool fireman friend Dave Leppan of Pinetown Firehouse we decided that today’s Hipstamatic would be “the jaws of life”. We would like to thank the fireman on duty at Gillits Firestation today for allowing us into their firehouse to take these snaps. Thank you for being welcoming and even having a little chat with us! - You guys so need a double story though :).

You gotta wonder how many lives this piece of machinery has saved?

Hipstamatic 366 - Day/Img 007 - The Gentlemen’s Game

So thinking about the Hipstamatic and wondering what kind of story I could write about cricket without confusing the facts of the game, mis-quoating great moments and being under the factual scrutiny of three cricket-experts I decided to google search “top ten cricket blogs” - oh my word - there are a lot of intensley passionate cricket dudes and ladies out there.

Hipstamatic 365 - Day 2 - Kodak Brownie

Day 2 on the Hipstamatic project and you know what, its easy to forget to take a Photograph on any given day. So I am just working on the computer getting all my admin work out the way so I can get back to designing and my gorgeous and clever man is running back and forth behind me with his iPhone and a bunch of props.

And guess what we have a new Hipstamatic thanks to him! This image was taken on one of our advertisement canvases we printed for a recent bridal fair and ontop of it is Adrian’s new bride and joy - his Kodak Hawkeye Brownie. This shot is a little bit edited in another app called PIXLR Adrian and I often trawl through second hand shops and vintage corner shops trying to find lil vintage gems for our camera collection. This one we acquired from Jude at [Hey Judes Antique Barn] in Eston off the N3 freeway to Pietermaritzburg.

Your snapping shall never be the same again!
