A beautiful day and a wonderfully warm wedding. That is what this Cape Town Wedding & Lifestyle photographer was in for when he headed up the coast to the little fishing village of Arniston, which lies on the East Coast of the Western Cape, about 210 km from Cape Town city. Kimberley and James are a bubbly and fun filled couple that only wanted to have the best possible wedding day for themselves but mostly for their friends and family.
One of the most majestic drives in the fair Cape is certainly the 9km Chapman’s Peak Route between Hout Bay and Noordhoek. Noordhoek beach was my destination just two days ago on Sunday where I would be shooting Lisa & Shaun and their wonderful little family. The beach at Noordhoek has vast stretches of the softest white sand and stretches for miles along the coastline just below the exit of Chapman’s Peak. Because if it’s vast expansion, it is actually quite easy to shoot on this beach without the backdrop of late afternoon picnicking families, sun worshipers, surfers and sunset seeking photographers.
Cameras packed, cards loaded, this new to Cape Town Photographer was not going to hesitate in heading out to new towns that he has not as yet visited and of course for new adventures. This time it was for a wonderful engagement shoot with a happy and always laughing couple, Rozanne & Daniell, in the cutest little town of Philadelphia, here on the West Coast.
Two good friends or ours recently visited Cape Town and it was a lovely opportunity for me to capture them in the beautiful settings surrounding Big Bay and Melkbos here on the West Coast of Cape Town. Being a Cape Town photographed one is always spoilt for locations and shooting this couple in amongst the Fynbos near Haakgat Beach, just 2 km from the little town of Melkbos was an absolute pleasure.
Matt and his lovely lady won a shoot with me when I was visiting back in Durban. The competition had a surfboard up from grabs from the fantastic surf board shaper and surf legend Spider Murphy of Safari Surf. Durban beach front always offer so much to the visiting public and can on some occasions be quite a difficult location to shoot, with all of it’s fishermen and beach goers filling the backgrounds.
Woodstock, Cape Town is one of my favourite locations to shoot. The culture diversity, the historical background, the rustic yet modernised retro feel about this crazy suburb are only a few of the reasons why I selected Woodstock for this particular style shoot. Gary and Abigail won a competition shoot which I ran on my Facebook page a little while ago. With over 500 entries into the competition they were selected as winners by a draw and it just so happens that their personalities added to the mood of this shoot.
What started out as a cute story-line and an E-Sesh turned comic book fun! I met Gareth with a group of comedian friends at their comedy shoot for Splashy last year and when Megz contacted us to do their wedding we were over the moon!
So next December (yeah they booked super early good one guys!) we are off to their home town, Port Elizabeth, to shoot their rocker style wedding….
