Well what can I say… this Cape Town Lifestyle & Wedding Photographer has also been a massive follower and shooter of South African and International music and bands for about 20 years now. Having photographed locally, and throughout South Africa, I have had the privilege of meeting and capturing some of my personal music favourites.

My coverage includes all of South Africa’s biggest festivals in all of our major cities. You can see the links to more of my International and Local work on my Banshee 22 page (links below).

One Night in Cape Town is kind of a stop over event for the top International bands that play at the infamous Oppikoppi Festival that happens each year. A couple of years back I was ecstatic to have photographed one of my personal favourites “Wolfmother” from Australia, and this year, well in fact just last week I had a chance to shoot one of my most loved “Out Of South Africa” bands… the Kongos.

A bit more information from good ol’ Wikipedia…

Kongos (often styled as KONGOS) is a South African-born American alternative rock band consisting of four brothers: Johnny (accordion, keyboards, vocals), Jesse (drums, percussion, vocals), Daniel (guitar, vocals), and Dylan Kongos (bass guitar, lap slide guitar, vocals). They spent their childhoods in the city of London and in South Africa. They compose, record and perform in Phoenix, Arizona, where they have lived since 1996. They graduated from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona and attended Arizona State University. The four men are the sons of recording artist John Kongos.[1] They are of Greek, American and Mexican origin and have attended the Greek Saheti[2] school in Gauteng, South Africa. The film Holy Motors and the video game “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel” used their song “Come with Me Now” in their official trailers. WWE also used this song as the theme for their 2014 pay-per-view event Extreme Rules. It is also the theme song for the Australian version of reality television series I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! since 2015. It is also on the soundtrack to the movie The Expendables 3”

Here are just a few of the image I managed to capture on this cool evening at the Hillcrest Quarry.
